Regulation of regulatory T cell function by Foxp3 isoforms
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) function to maintain immune homestasis through a variety of mechanisms. Tregs are defined by the expression of the transcriptional regulatory FOXP3, which in humans is expressed by 2 FOXP3 isoforms. We have found a novel mechanism of Treg-mediated immune suppression involving regulating protein translation, and have developed models to study the function in individual FOXP3 isoforms.
