Andrew Santos
Lecturer
I’m an educator at heart, highly interested in the well-being and learning of my students. I’ve taught a broad variety of STEM content in a range of settings, to students of all ages and backgrounds. My disciplinary research investigated how the diarrheal pathogen enteropathogenic Escherichia coli influenced human cell signaling during infection, and involved the use of proteomics, conventional microbiological, molecular biology, and immunological techniques.
As a Lecturer, I aim to practice modern, evidence-based teaching practices in my classroom and incorporate novel strategies as they arise from pedagogical research. I am interested in researching new student evaluation strategies in both lecture and practical course contexts, and strategies to refocus student attention and values onto learning outcomes and objectives rather than grades. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me!
