Event Overview

The Pacific Tuberculosis Pathogenesis and Host-Response Research Retreat (PacTB) 2025 brings together the West Coast tuberculosis (TB) research community from Canada and the U.S., fostering collaboration to advance TB diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. This essential event offers a range of presentations, networking sessions, and keynote talks.

Dr. Maziar Divangahi
Dr. Maziar Divangahi

Dr. Maziar Divangahi McGill University

Dr. Maziar Divangahi is a Professor of Medi

cine at McGill University and Associate Director of both the Meakins-Christie Laboratories and the McGill International TB Centre. He is also Co-Leader of the Respiratory Program at McGill University Health Centre. An internationally recognized pulmonary immunologist, Dr. Divangahi’s research focuses on regulatory mechanisms in host resistance and disease tolerance against major respiratory pathogens, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2. He is pioneering research to harness innate immunity in vaccines through hematopoietic stem cell reprogramming. 

 

A prolific scholar, Dr. Divangahi has published extensively in top journals and received prestigious awards such as the CIHR New Investigator Award, FRQS Award, and the CIHR Foundation grant. His contributions have been further honored by his election to the Royal Society of Canada, and he currently holds the Strauss Chair in Respiratory Diseases.

PacTB: A History of Innovation

Established in 2017, PacTB has rotated across institutions like UC Berkeley, Seattle Children’s Research Institute, and Oregon Health & Science University. This trainee-focused conference emphasizes dynamic talks and networking opportunities, including poster sessions and social events.
